UI Dance Company Home Concert

UI Dance Company is back on stage at the Space Place Theater for the first time in two years with a concert of six contemporary dance works by guest choreographers and faculty. This evening of dance is packed with curiosity, humor, and empathy in a diverse exploration of the human experience through movement and metaphor. The company of ten dancers will perform works by renowned choreographer and dance scholar Thomas DeFrantz, Jennifer Kayle, Kristin Marrs, Melinda Jean Myers, and Kieron Sargeant. Also on the program is an intergenerational work based on a letter exchange and collaborative process with seniors from the Iowa City Senior Center.  

UI Dance Company is the resident repertory and touring company of the Department of Dance, under the direction of Stephanie Miracle, visiting assistant professor, and Alex Bush, associate director.
