Victor Maldonado is a multidisciplinary artist who primarily focuses on lighting design and is a 3rd year MFA Theatre Arts Design student who also studies media and sound design. Victor has worked on and designed 5 Dance Concert Thesis in the last 2 years. Most recently here at the University of Iowa, Victor did the lighting and media design for Macbeth and did the lighting design for Into the Woods. Currently, Victor is working on the sound design for In the Red Brown Water here at the University of Iowa. He has also been a designer and light board programmer for ACDA (American Dance Association) and WDA (World Dance Alliance) during his undergrad at the University of Texas El Paso. Other Lighting design credits here at the university of Iowa include Braided Sorrow, Lil G: A Gatsby Remix, and Gwenevere. Outside of storytelling, Victor has also done the lighting for artist like Brittney Howard and Dawn Richerds at Hancher’s Fall Welcome Concert, and Boys to Men at Rhythm City Casino.  When Victor is not working he enjoys having a cold one with the homies, and going to concerts and music festivals.
