Katherine Shamdin is from Mattoon, Illinois and is earning her BFA in Dance and BA in Enterprise Leadership. She will graduate with distinction as well as Honors in Dance. She was a member of UIDC from 2021-2022 and performed in Dance Gala 2020, 2021, and 2022. She has also performed in many Faculty/Graduate and Thesis concerts. Katherine has had the opportunity to work with Stephanie Miracle, Armando Duarte, Tony Orrico, Kristin Marrs, Eloy Barragán, Kieron Dwayne Sargeant, and many other talented faculty and graduate students. She has attended several summer intensives including Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and was most recently the Festival Services Intern at American Dance Festival. Katherine is currently the Undergraduate Dance Organization Vice-President and has enjoyed her time in this role. After graduation she will be pursuing professional performance opportunities as well as a career in arts administration. Katherine is thankful for her friends and family who have always supported and encouraged her.
