Jenny Fairman

Biography

Jenny Fairman is from Lincolnshire, Illinois, earning her BFA in Dance and BA in Enterprise Leadership with a Certificate in Arts Entrepreneurship and pursuing Honors in Dance. She has also been a member of the piccolo section in the Hawkeye Marching Band during her four years at Iowa. Within the Department of Dance, Jenny has had the privilege to work with many renowned choreographers, including Stephanie Miracle, Melinda Jean Myers, Danielle Russo, Kristin Marrs, Armando Duarte, Eloy Barragán, Alex Bush, and Kieron Dwayne Sargeant, as well as guest artists Shannon Alvis and Thomas DeFrantz. Past performances at the University of Iowa have included Dance Gala (2021 & 2022), the UIDC Home Concerts & tours (2021 & 2022), Faculty/Graduate Concert (2020 & 2023), MFA Thesis Concert (2020), Grad/Undergrad Concert (2019), and Mammal Hall. She is also grateful for performance experiences at the American College Dance Association North-Central Conference this spring and being a member of the University of Iowa Dance Company for two years, performing and touring all across the state of Iowa. Within the department, Jenny has also been a member of the Undergraduate Dance Organization since her freshman year. In addition to her university training, Jenny has had the opportunity to spend several summers attending intensives at DanceWorks Chicago and working with several Chicago-based choreographers. Following graduation, Jenny is excited to further develop her career in dance and performing arts management/leadership in the Chicago area. She is especially grateful for her family and friends supporting her in all of her dance pursuits always!
