Biography

Eloy, originally from Mexico City, is a highly accomplished ballet teacher and choreographer specializing in ballet technique, choreography, partnering, and screen-dance. He has garnered recognition and awards throughout his career, including prestigious fellowships such as the Choreographers’ Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Boise Arts Council. Eloy was also honored with a Lifetime Career Fellowship by the Idaho Commission of the Arts and received an Artist Project Grant from the Iowa Arts Council.

His choreographic works have graced esteemed stages worldwide, including the Bolshoi Theatre, Finnish National Opera House, Conservatoire de Paris – Cité de la Musique, Alvin Ailey Studios Citigroup Theater, DiCapo Opera Theater NYC, Teatro Nacional de Panamá, Ballet Real de Costa Rica, South Dakota Ballet, National Ballet Company of México, and the Compañia de Danza del Estado de México – EdoMex. Additionally, his innovative screen-dance creations have been showcased at film festivals in Mexico, the USA, Stockholm, and Cuba.

Eloy's extensive training includes studying at La Escuela Nacional de Danza in Mexico, the Royal Academy of Dance in the UK, Boston Ballet, and the Joffrey Ballet in New York. He has performed with renowned companies such as Joffrey II, Washington Ballet, Compañía Nacional de Danza México, Ballet Royal de Wallonie, Mainz Stattheater, Hagen Stattheater, Ballet de Monterey, Eugene Ballet, and Ballet Idaho.

Beyond his artistic endeavors, Eloy is actively involved in promoting dance and fostering creativity. He is the Director and Founder of the International ScreenDance Festival and serves as Co-Director of the Iowa Dance Festival, further cementing his impact and influence within the global dance community.
