Biography

T’Ana Selah was born in Ames, Iowa. She started creative movement at three years old and has only grown in her love of dance ever since.

In 2022, T’Ana received her certificate of training from the Department of Performing Arts at the University La Javeriana in Bogotá Colombia, SA. While living in Colombia, She had the privilege of performing work for the Teatro Mayor Santo Domingo and the James Cousins Company(UK) in collaboration with the British Council.

In 2023, T’Ana completed her BFA in Modern dance from Point Park University. During her five years in the conservatory program, she refined her technical training in ballet, jazz, hip-hop, and modern dance. While in University she had the opportunity to be in works by Camille Brown, Marc Spaulding, Yamoussa Camara, and Rocker Verastique/Danny Herman to name a few. She also has had the privilege of performing with various companies and project based pieces with the Pillow Project at the Space Upstairs, Battery Dance Festival, and Zion Dance Project.

As a choreographer, she has created works for the NAACP Ames, Iowa Chapter, DOW cinema, Pittsburgh Playhouse SCP, TEDX Des Moines, several works for Encounter Performing Arts Company as their artistic director, Performance Dance Centre, and New York City’s 43rd Annual Battery Dance Festival.
