I’d like to dedicate this piece to my mom, Kelly. Thank you for teaching me resilience is power, creativity is essential, and giving up is never an option.

To the amazing dance faculty, thank you all for believing in me, teaching me, and reminding me every day why I love this art form. I am constantly inspired by the passion, dedication, and leadership you devote to your students to help us grow as artists and human beings.

To my mentor and glorious advisor, Jennifer Kayle. Thank you for your invaluable guidance and support throughout the past four years. You have taught me to embrace my weirdness, to find a way to make any moment an improvisational experiment, and to always “keep going” when I feel like my creativity tank is empty.

To my fellow senior BFA pals, you are all insanely talented artists and can do anything you set your minds to. I am so grateful for all of the memories we have created the past four years and treasure our friendship to my core. I love you goofballs endlessly.

Finally, I would like to thank my family. I can’t imagine what my life would be like without your constant love, support, and hilarious commentary. I could not ask for a better fan club.

In a time of rapid change and uncertainty, I am grateful to be able to create work and share it with the world. 'Dressed Up to Do Nothing' was conceived in the heat of disruption, change, and panic in my life and on the planet. However, in its reveal, a completely new, raw, and surprising work is born.
